The illustration carefully details the broad, bifurcated pinnae and elongated leaf tips typical of this species. A remarkable element of this plate is the presence of the floral spadix, providing a distinct chromatic note and allowing observation of the flowering cycle as studied by 19th-century botanists in cultivation greenhouses.

Taken from the work Palmiers, histoire iconographique by Oswald de Kerchove de Denterghem (1878), this plate was created by illustrator P. De Pannemaker. Dedicated to the Belgian collector Ghiesbreght, this work is part of a major publishing project aimed at cataloging the most elegant species discovered during botanical explorations. The mastery of composition and accuracy of morphological details make this engraving a reference document for the history of natural sciences.

Perfectly suited for a collection of botanical prints, this reproduction offers a calm and detailed reading of exotic flora. It will find its place in a space dedicated to study, reading, or any room wishing to incorporate a decorative element that is both informative and aesthetic. This ancient illustration constitutes a lasting testimony to the art of naturalist drawing and the passion for horticulture that animated scholars of the era.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0824/4730/2989/files/planche-botanique-palmier-calyptrogyne-ghiesbreghtii-42x59-4-cm-A2.jpg?v=1790774793
