The plate stages the monumental entrance pylon dominating a desert terrain where a few human figures are active, offering a clear reading of the building's monumental proportions. The shades of ochre and blue restore the characteristic atmosphere of the landscapes of Upper Egypt.

The original drawing is the work of illustrator David Roberts, extracted from his monumental work published in 1838. This temple, one of the best preserved of the Ptolemaic era, was recorded by Roberts with particular attention paid to the reliefs and the architectural layout. His work constitutes an important milestone in the rediscovery of ancient wonders by learned Europe.

This iconographic piece is intended for collectors of historical documents and lovers of classical art.
