The plate highlights the morphological peculiarities of the species, notably its black needle-like spines on the petioles and the whitish coloration beneath the pinnae. P. De Pannemaker's drawing rigorously captures the arched posture of the fronds and the specific texture of the trunk.

The original work, published in 1878 by Oswald de Kerchove de Denterghem, reflects the craze for exotic species during the second half of the 19th century. This scientific study strives to document every botanical detail to serve both science and warm greenhouse horticulture. The balanced composition and precision of chromatic details reflect the period's technical expertise in natural history publishing.

This poster is particularly suitable for natural history enthusiasts and scientific decoration.
