The plate details a floral stem bearing multiple green flowers with blue centers, a rare chromatic contrast faithfully restored. The drawing highlights the plant's slender elegance and the precision of its leaf structures.

Taken from the work Choix des plus belles fleurs (1827), this illustration is the work of Pierre-Joseph Redouté. The artist documents exotic species introduced at the end of the 18th century, combining the botanist's rigor with the watercolorist's sensitivity. This species, native to southern Africa, illustrates the era's growing interest in world flora.

This antique plate constitutes a precious document for collectors of ornamental botany.
