Séguy

This reproduction of a naturalist plate is taken from the collection Samarkande by Émile-Allain Séguy. It features a complex chromatic study where stylized floral motifs are arranged on a grid background. The composition highlights a striking contrast between the bright orange of the petals and the structuring green of the background, creating a visual rhythm specific to the decorative arts of the early 20th century.

Published around 1920, this work reflects the influence of Central Asia on Art Deco aesthetics. Émile-Allain Séguy displays his mastery of stenciling to transform oriental inspirations into rigorous geometric patterns. Each element of this antique engraving reflects research into ornamentation and repetition, characteristic of the artist's encyclopedic intent.

Intended for lovers of art history and textile design, this antique illustration fits perfectly into a contemporary interior or a collection of decorative plates.
