Commissioned by the PLM railway company in 1930, the illustration depicts a skier mid-jump in a snowy mountain landscape. The dynamic composition, marked by strong diagonals and a palette of blues and whites, captures the energy of the snow sports resorts of the era.

The work is signed by the artist Jean-Raoul Chaurand-Naurac, whose Art Deco style is manifested by clean lines and a simplification of forms. The editorial intention aimed to promote nascent mountain tourism, associating the practice of skiing with an ideal of health and the outdoors. The precision of the line captures the documentary spirit of this historical advertising commission.

Intended for enthusiasts of alpine history or vintage graphics, this plate can be observed for its compositional strength. It fits perfectly into a thematic collection on travel or as a sober and historical decoration element. Its iconographic value lies in its testimony to the beginnings of winter sports in France.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0824/4730/2989/files/affiche-sports-neige-alpes-jura-chaurand-naurac-1930-42x59-4-cm-a2_dc25b57f-f409-4615-bce4-462f5fe0878b.jpg?v=1790770491
