Alstroemeria Pelegrina Botanical Plate by Pierre-Joseph Redouté

This reproduction of a naturalist plate illustrates the Alstroemeria Pelegrina, a floral species native to South America. The drawing highlights the white and pink petals punctuated with touches of yellow, borne on a stem with tapered leaves. The composition respects the codes of classic botanical illustration with rigorous precision in the rendering of textures and the hierarchy of floral elements.

The original work appears in the collection Choix des plus belles fleurs published in 1827 by Pierre-Joseph Redouté. Nicknamed the "Raphael of flowers", Redouté captures here the elegance of this plant from the Amaryllidaceae family with an encyclopedic intent. The graphic style reflects the pinnacle of 19th-century lithography, combining scientific rigor and finesse of execution for ornamental study.

This ancient print lends itself to careful observation of botanical details or integration into a naturalist art collection. As a decorative object, it brings a historical and academic note to interior spaces. Its documentary character and iconographic value make it a piece appreciated for its timelessness and visual clarity.
