This reproduction illustrates a one-humped camel, also named dromedary, in a desert environment. The scene depicts the animal in the foreground, while the background suggests an oriental landscape with palm trees and traditional architecture.

The plate comes from the monumental work by Charles d'Orbigny, the Dictionnaire Universel d'Histoire Naturelle. This illustration combines the zoological study of the mammal with a landscape context typical of mid-19th-century scholarly publications.

Appreciated for its iconographic value, this reproduction invites the contemplation of distant fauna through the prism of ancient scientific exploration. It constitutes an elegant historical testimony to enrich a thematic interior decor.
