This reproduction of a naturalistic illustration presents the Anthomedusae, also known as flower jellyfish. The plate displays with great clarity the anatomical details of these Cnidarians, highlighting their radial structure and delicate filaments against a neutral white background. The color palette, including touches of red and beige, respects the documentary intention of the era.

The work comes from Kunstformen der Natur, Ernst Haeckel's reference work published around 1900. Haeckel dedicated a large part of his life to the study of marine invertebrates, and his lithographs have become famous for their ability to sublimate complex biological forms. This graphic style exerted a major influence on the organic motifs of Art Nouveau in Europe.

Ideal for enriching a natural history collection, this illustration invites the discovery of marine biodiversity. It integrates harmoniously into an interior decor seeking a vintage and scientific touch. Its iconographic value makes it a privileged support of contemplation for lovers of marine biology and ancient engravings.
