Antique Bony Fishes Illustration by Ernst Haeckel

This reproduction presents a naturalistic plate dedicated to bony fishes, including seahorses and various marine species. Stemming from Ernst Haeckel's iconographic research, the illustration stands out for its green and white tones, offering a detailed vision of the Teleostei subclass. The composition highlights the structural complexity and natural ornaments of these marine vertebrates.

The original work comes from the collection Kunstformen der Natur, published between 1899 and 1904. Ernst Haeckel, biologist and illustrator, explores the symmetry and beauty of the living world, thus influencing the artistic currents of the early 20th century. This engraving bears witness to an era when scientific illustration sought to capture the very essence of animal morphology with absolute technical precision.

Intended for enthusiasts of ichthyology and vintage illustrations, this piece brings a documentary and historical dimension to a living space. The clarity of the lines and the harmony of colors invite the contemplation of biological forms. It integrates perfectly into a thematic collection focusing on aquatic fauna or natural sciences.
