This reproduction of an 1878 naturalist plate precisely illustrates the Raphis Flabelliformis, a dwarf palm known for its felted stems and characteristic fibers. Taken from the work Palmiers, histoire iconographique, this piece by P. De Pannemaker demonstrates a subtle chromatic study where shades of green and brown dominate.

Oswald de Kerchove de Denterghem's work follows in the great tradition of 19th-century botanical monographs. The composition highlights the morphology of the plant, emphasizing the elegance of the flabellate leaves and the structure of the shoots through rigorous scientific line work.

Ideal for botany enthusiasts and antique illustration lovers, this print brings historical depth to a collection or workspace. Its sober and documentary aesthetic allows for careful observation of the plant diversity of the era.
