This naturalist illustration reproduction presents the Pansy, or Viola tricolor, as it was documented in the 1827 work. The drawing highlights the chromatic variations of the petals, ranging from velvety purple to bright yellow, typical of this mountainous European species.

The precision of Redouté's stroke allows the observation of the delicate texture of the flowers and the alternate arrangement of the leaves. This work illustrates the period's desire to classify horticultural varieties with unprecedented artistic rigor, making each plate a reference for botanists.

A true testimony to horticultural heritage, this antique plate constitutes a prime choice for thematic wall decoration. It invites close observation of nature's details through the eyes of a master illustrator whose influence endures today.
