This reproduction of a botanical plate depicts the tall Trichopteris, illustrating the plant in its complete habitus as well as numbered anatomical sections. The visual rendering favors descriptive clarity, allowing the appreciation of this fern's complex structure with great scientific fidelity.
The original work is extracted from Charles d'Orbigny's Dictionnaire Universel d'Histoire Naturelle, published in the mid-19th century. This editorial corpus is famous for the finesse of its engravings, which served as a reference for the popularization of botanical knowledge and the classification of cryptogamic species.
Ideal for botany enthusiasts and naturalist studies, this plate invites the contemplation of ancient flora. It constitutes a precious testimony of the horticultural and scientific knowledge of the era, combining sober linework with timeless documentary richness.
