This reproduction illustrates the Thrinax barbadensis, an imposing palm native to the Antilles. The plate carefully describes the vast fan-shaped leaves carried by petioles marbled with silver punctuations. Visual analysis highlights the radiated blade and the segments which bend, offering a majestic silhouette.

Produced in 1878 by P. De Pannemaker, this work belongs to Kerchove de Denterghem's monograph. It illustrates 19th-century botanists' fascination with tropical flora and the need to document the diversity of hot greenhouse palms.

This naturalist poster brings a historical and exotic dimension to any interior. It is a choice piece for collectors of antique engravings and enthusiasts of classical botanical ornamentation.
