This exceptional reproduction presents the Rosa Centifolia, or Cabbage Rose, famous for its dense layers of petals and legendary fragrance. Pierre-Joseph Redouté immortalizes here one of the most emblematic flowers of horticulture, native to Asia Minor, with unmatched mastery of light and floral volumes.
Taken from the work Choix des plus belles fleurs from 1827, this plate illustrates the peak of Redouté's career, the famous painter of sovereigns. The engraving testifies not only to a deep knowledge of rose varieties, but also to an aesthetic sense that defined the standards of botanical art for subsequent generations.
This work is a must-have for collectors of floral prints and lovers of romantic and classic atmospheres. It carries all the splendor of 19th-century gardens and establishes itself as a central decorative element.
