This reproduction illustrates the woodbine honeysuckle (Lonicera caprifolium) in a classic naturalistic composition. The plate details the intertwining of the sarmentose stems and the singular shape of the tubular flowers in shades of pink and white. The graphic rendering favors the finesse of the line to translate the suppleness and climbing structure of the plant.

Created by Pierre-Joseph Redouté for his 1827 collection, this illustration is part of a project to document the most beautiful ornamental species. Redouté uses his expertise here to represent the elegant bearing of this shrub, reflecting the use of honeysuckle in the landscaping of gardens and bowers in the romantic era.

This antique botanical plate is a visual testimony to the art of gardening in the 19th century. It is aimed at lovers of floral iconography wishing to own a faithful reproduction of a historical document combining scientific precision and graphic balance.
