The composition highlights the forest of massive columns with composite capitals and the depth of the peristyle courtyard, under a cloudy sky that accentuates the relief of the ancient carvings and the majesty of the place.

Coming from the work "Egypt and Nubia" of 1838, this lithograph by David Roberts accurately documents the splendor of Upper Egypt. The artist manages to restore the monumentality of the propylon and the finesse of the hieroglyphic reliefs, characteristics of late Ptolemaic architecture, in a graphic style that is both soft and detailed.
