This reproduction presents plate XXXVII of Jubaea spectabilis, a botanical illustration highlighting the stocky silhouette and arched fronds of this Chilean species. The drawing isolates the subject against a neutral background to accentuate the morphological details essential for its scientific identification.

Taken from the 1878 monograph by Oswald de Kerchove de Denterghem, this engraving was created by P. De Pannemaker. His work perfectly illustrates the encyclopedic intent of the original work, seeking to document the diversity of palms with great execution finesse and remarkable anatomical accuracy.

Ideal for wall decoration with a naturalist spirit, this antique plate invites contemplation of exotic flora as studied in the 19th century. It constitutes a visual study object as well as a timeless decorative element, enhancing the history of botany and the art of printmaking.
