Faithful reproduction of a lithograph by David Roberts representing the portico of the temple of Deir el-Medina in Thebes. The image focuses on the architectural elegance of the columns and the solemn atmosphere of this ancient site dedicated to Hathor and Maat.
The original work, published around 1838, is part of the tradition of traveling painters. Roberts documents the Ptolemaic remains with a graphic precision that emphasizes the finesse of the capitals and the state of the structures before major modern restorations.
This illustration is suitable for collections of Egyptological engravings or interiors seeking a historical dimension. It brings a touch of documentary rigor and learned exoticism to an interior decor, inviting the study of Theban ruins.
