This landscape plate is a faithful reproduction of The "Pepe's" Teahouse at Meguro, a masterpiece by Utagawa Hiroshige. It depicts a moment of rest for travelers in the Meguro region, with Mount Fuji emerging from the mist in the background.

Dated 1857, this ukiyo-e illustration demonstrates the artist's mastery of space and perspective. The hierarchical composition between the pine trees in the foreground and the distant valley underlines the encyclopedic intention to document the iconic sites of the Japanese archipelago.

A true invitation to contemplation, this reproduction fits perfectly into an interior seeking to evoke the serenity of classical landscapes. It offers a detailed reading of the customs and historical geography of 19th-century Japan.
