This reproduction of an 1878 engraving illustrates the Astrocaryum Murumuru, a Brazilian palm notable for its spiny trunk and feathery leaves. Created by P. De Pannemaker, this scientific plate highlights the contrast between the green and whitish sides of the pinnae.

Oswald de Kerchove de Denterghem's work devotes an in-depth study to this species introduced by botanist Martius. The illustration captures the acicular spines and brown bristles with precision, reflecting the documentary demands of late 19th-century naturalist monographs.

This antique print is intended for enthusiasts of ethnobotany and historical graphic art. Its visual precision makes it an ideal object of contemplation to enrich a library or modern cabinet of curiosities.
