Bird illustration: Siberian rubythroat and Wheatear - d'Orbigny

This reproduction presents an ornithological illustration featuring the Siberian rubythroat and the black-eared wheatear. The subjects are rendered with great finesse, capturing the brown and bluish nuances of the rubythroat as well as the orange hues of the wheatear. The classical composition, showing the birds in their natural environment on branches, emphasizes the anatomical precision and attention to detail characteristic of naturalistic engravers.

The original document comes from the Dictionnaire Universel d'Histoire Naturelle by Charles d'Orbigny, a major work of scientific synthesis in the mid-19th century. The plates in this collection are famous for their accuracy and their contribution to the popularization of natural sciences across Europe. The intention at the time was to provide an exhaustive visual reference for the study of avian species.

Ideal for lovers of ornithology and classical decor, this ancient plate fits perfectly into a study or a living room with a scholarly ambiance. It lends itself to a meticulous observation of plumage details and bears witness to the evolution of ornithological classification. This reproduction invites a rediscovery of the scientific and artistic heritage of d'Orbigny's era.
