This reproduction presents a group of butterflies with gradient blue and white wings on a cream background. Taken from the 1903 collection Chō senshu, this illustration highlights the diversity of wing shapes and the subtlety of the color palette used by the artist.

Kamisaka Sekka uses here the decorative codes of the Rimpa movement to magnify the entomological subject. The composition relies on the sobriety and elegance of the line, transforming each specimen into a color study that combines documentary precision with harmonious graphic research.

This naturalist plate is ideal for lovers of Japanese art wishing to collect quality reproductions. It fits perfectly into a decorative environment favoring cool tones and airy compositions inspired by nature.
