This reproduction highlights a plate of blue roses from the Samarkand collection by Émile-Allain Séguy. The work features an organic network of purple stems intertwining on a blue-green background, where stylized flowers with concentric petals and orange accents blossom.

Published in the early 1920s, this album illustrates the transition between Art Nouveau naturalism and Art Deco rigor. Séguy uses a bold chromatic palette to reinvent the classic floral theme through the pochoir (stencil) process, characteristic of his ornamental production.

This plate constitutes a major historical testimony of 20th-century decorative arts. It allows for the observation of technical composition details and the study of cool color harmonies contrasted by warm points, specific to the artist's style.
