Botanical Plate of the Petit Verdot Grape Variety - Ampelography

This reproduction of an ampelographic plate illustrates the Petit Verdot grape variety with exemplary naturalist rigor. The composition features a dark purple cluster with tight grapes, accompanied by its characteristic green foliage and an orange stem. The visual study allows observation of the structure of the vine and the specific morphology of this variety, faithfully reproduced according to the codes of early-century scientific illustration.

Taken from the monumental work by Pierre Viala and Victor Vermorel published between 1901 and 1910, this illustration testifies to the golden age of French scientific viticulture. The Traité général de viticulture remains an absolute reference for its chromatic and documentary precision. Each plate aimed to fix the immutable characteristics of grape varieties for future generations of winemakers and botanists.

Intended for enthusiasts of terroir and botanical art, this reproduction integrates perfectly into a kitchen, a cellar, or an office. It offers a technical and aesthetic reading of the vine, celebrating the diversity of historical grape varieties. This decorative document highlights global wine heritage through a high-quality print respecting the nuances of the era.
