Pierre-Joseph Redouté documents this species, then rare in Europe, whose introduction marked botanical history. The precise line emphasizes the elegance of the composition and fidelity to the descriptions of the flora of Cochinchina, testifying to the openness to exotic species.

This print is suitable for lovers of Asian botany and ancient scientific illustrations. It allows one to rediscover a remarkable floral species through the expert gaze of the most famous naturalistic illustrator of his time.
