This reproduction of a scientific lithograph by Ernst Haeckel presents cystoids (Cystoidea), an extinct class of echinoderms. The illustration details the globular shapes and fossil structures of these organisms, notably the genus Callocystis, with a chromatic application in yellow and gold tones against a classic engraving background.

Extracted from the work Kunstformen der Natur, this plate bears witness to the paleontological documentation work carried out by the German biologist. Haeckel emphasizes the continuity of natural forms across the ages, offering both a scientific and artistic vision of biological evolution through his symmetrical representations.

Perfect for paleontology or geology enthusiasts, this antique illustration brings a historical and scholarly dimension to interior decoration. It allows the rediscovery of vanished life forms with the characteristic aesthetics of the 19th century.
