This reproduction of a winter naturalist plate shows the Itsukushima Shrine under a blanket of snow. The famous red torii, a central element of the composition, is reflected with precision in the calm waters. The scenery is completed by snow-covered stone lanterns and misty mountains, creating harmony between architecture and landscape.

Originally created by Hasui Kawase, this work illustrates the transition between traditional ukiyo-e and the stylistic renewal of the early 20th century. The emphasis is on the texture of the snow and the chromatic depth of red and blue. This plate testifies to a concern for realism and an acute sensitivity to seasonal variations.

This antique illustration is intended for lovers of graphic art and Japanese heritage. It brings a historical and artistic note to a living room or office. The visual strength of the red torii under the snow makes this a particularly remarkable reproduction for contemplation.
