This reproduction presents an entomological plate dedicated to various species of hemiptera, including the remarkable Reduvius personatus. Taken from the Dictionnaire Universel d'Histoire Naturelle, the illustration displays a vivid chromatic study where reds and blacks highlight the morphological diversity of these insects.
The original work is part of the encyclopedic ambition of Charles d'Orbigny, who supervised this major 19th-century achievement. Every detail, from antennae to elytra, is rendered with a strength of stroke characteristic of the period, combining pedagogical intention with timeless graphic aesthetics.
Perfect for decorating an office or a library, this antique naturalist plate allows the complexity of the insect order to be appreciated. It constitutes an ideal collector's item for those who value scientific heritage and the elegance of classical naturalist illustrations.
