This Japanese print reproduction presents the portrait of a young girl holding a doll. The subject wears a traditional kimono with colorful patterns, standing out against a sober background. The hierarchy of elements emphasizes the peaceful expression of the face and the care given to textile details, characteristic of portrait art in Japanese prints.
The original work by Hasui Kawase is part of the artistic revival of the Shin-hanga movement. Unlike his usual landscapes, this portrait demonstrates the author's versatility in representing the human figure and daily life. The graphic style combines a clear line with a vibrant color palette including red and pink.
This illustration is aimed at collectors interested in the iconography of childhood and Japanese clothing traditions. It can be integrated into a thematic decorative set or kept as a chromatic and stylistic study of 20th-century ukiyo-e art.
