This reproduction of a print by Hasui Kawase illustrates a rocky coastal scene at Fukakubo, near Hachinohe. The visual stands out for the chromatic depth of the blue sky and the emerald nuances of a rough sea crashing against the shore. The artist uses a hierarchy of elements where the mineral strength of the gray rocks dialogues with the perpetual movement of water.

Hasui Kawase, master of modern Japanese landscape, deploys an engraving technique here that highlights the wild beauty of the Japanese coasts. The original work's intention was to freeze these natural panoramas with a sensitivity specific to the Shin-hanga movement, combining ukiyo-e tradition and atmospheric realism.

Ideal for lovers of maritime landscapes and traditional art, this antique illustration fits into a decoration dedicated to travel and nature. It is observed as a rigorous chromatic study on the variations of the ocean and coastal light.
