This illustrated mug features a reproduction of a motif taken from a plate by Kamisaka Sekka. The artwork depicts stylized butterflies in shades of blue and beige, arranged around Japanese calligraphic characters. The balanced composition and strong lines reflect a refined aesthetic approach where the eye moves between organic shapes and the vertical structure of the script.

The original drawing comes from the collection Chō senshu published in 1903. A major figure of the Rinpa movement in Kyoto during the Meiji period, the artist reinterprets nature through a modern graphic language, combining observation and poetic stylization.

Perfect for your coffee or tea breaks, this mug brings a contemplative touch to your daily routine at the office or at home. It also makes a wonderful gift idea for lovers of Japanese art.
