This reproduction of an antique illustration brings together two birds with remarkable plumage: the rufous-vented chachalaca (hocco roux), recognizable by its curly crest, and a brightly colored tragopan. The plate highlights the diversity of forms and textures of plumage within the order of gallinaceous birds.

The original work comes from the Dictionnaire Universel d'Histoire Naturelle directed by Charles d'Orbigny. It perfectly illustrates the style of the era, blending rigorous scientific observation and aesthetic sense, in order to offer an encyclopedic vision of global fauna as it was perceived in the 19th century.

This naturalist plate is particularly suited for lovers of exotic birds and period engravings. Its documentary character and visual richness make it a refined decoration element, capable of integrating into a collection of historical reproductions.
