Reproduction of a scientific engraving representing an Arabian horse in an arid environment. The subject is depicted in profile, highlighting its musculature and proud carriage, within a landscape composed of rock formations and characteristic desert vegetation.
This visual comes from the Dictionnaire Universel d'Histoire Naturelle (1841-1849), a major work of scientific popularization directed by Charles d'Orbigny. The illustration testifies to the interest of 19th-century naturalists in equine varieties and the documentation of their native environments.
This historical reproduction offers a documentary perspective on the art of ancient zoology. It is suitable for a detailed observation of the species' characteristics within a collection dedicated to the study of mammals and natural history.
