Naturalist plate of sea urchins by Ernst Haeckel

This reproduction presents a selection of sea urchins and sand dollars, revealing the structural variety of echinoderms. The plate favors yellow and white hues that contrast with a black background, accentuating the geometric patterns and characteristic spikes of these species. Each element is treated with a fineness of line that enhances the architectural aspect of these marine organisms, transforming a biological study into a powerful graphic work.

Taken from the collection Kunstformen der Natur, this illustration is the work of German biologist Ernst Haeckel. Published between 1899 and 1904, this work aimed to demonstrate the aesthetic unity of the living world through symmetry. The influence of these lithographies was major on the applied arts of the early century, making Haeckel a central figure in scientific and artistic naturalism.

This historical piece is ideal for enhancing a workspace or a living room with a touch of natural history. Its documentary value and visual balance make it an object of contemplation for collectors of antique images. It integrates harmoniously into a sober decoration highlighting the beauty of organic forms.
