This reproduction of an entomology plate highlights a selection of beetles, dominated by the impressive Iulodis. The arrangement of the specimens allows a direct comparison of shapes and metallic adornments. This illustration is taken from the Dictionnaire Universel d'Histoire Naturelle, illustrating the richness of 19th-century insect collections.

Under the direction of Charles d'Orbigny, this plate was designed to serve as a visual reference for naturalists. The graphic style is characterized by extreme attention paid to reflections and the symmetry of carapaces. These engravings represent the peak of scientific iconography before the advent of color photography, blending taxonomic rigor and elegance of line.

This print is suitable for amateurs of entomology and decor inspired by the natural world. It allows a close observation of the morphological diversity of beetles. As a decorative object, it brings a learned and historical dimension to an interior, valuing the heritage of great scientific explorations and cabinets of curiosities.
