Plate of Hymenomycetes (Dictyophora) - Ernst Haeckel

This black and white reproduction exposes the fascinating structure of hymenomycetes, and more particularly of the genus Dictyophora. The engraving highlights the contrast between the delicate veil of the mushroom and its robust stem, offering a detailed graphic study of mycological forms. The monochrome rendering accentuates the finesse of the line and the precision of the represented textures.

Extracted from Ernst Haeckel's historical collection Kunstformen der Natur, this plate reflects the biologist's interest in the internal structure and balance of plant and fungal species. Published between 1899 and 1904, these illustrations contributed to establishing a bridge between rigorous scientific observation and decorative artistic expression of the era.

This poster is particularly aimed at mycologists, illustrators, and enthusiasts of antique engravings with a minimalist style. It constitutes a choice piece for a sober decoration centered on botany or natural sciences, inviting the contemplation of the complex and often misunderstood details of the mushroom kingdom.
