This reproduction of a scientific engraving presents the Rohrstrahlinge, belonging to the Phaeodaria class. The illustration details the complexity of the star-like structures of these radiolarians, capturing their intricate geometric morphology against a neutral background. This work is part of the vast taxonomic study conducted by Ernst Haeckel in the late 19th century.

Originating from the major work Kunstformen der Natur, this plate reflects the author's philosophy uniting art and science. Haeckel explores the symmetry of marine organisms with surgical precision, offering a vision of the living world that redefined naturalist illustration and inspired numerous architects and decorators of the Belle Époque.

Intended for collectors of scientific documents and oceanography enthusiasts, this antique illustration brings a historical and scholarly dimension to any environment. Its descriptive clarity and iconographic value make it an ideal medium for observing the marine biodiversity of the past.
