This reproduction presents a naturalist and technical plate showing Mount Fuji observed from the mountains of Totomi Province. The illustration features artisans working on a huge piece of wood, offering a striking contrast between human effort in the foreground and the serenity of the volcanic summit on the horizon.

From Katsushika Hokusai's monumental series published between 1830 and 1832, this engraving stands out for its expressive use of line and its balanced chromatic palette. The bold framing, where the wood seems to split the composition, underlines the visual modernity of ukiyo-e art in its representation of landscape.

This object of iconographic study is aimed at collectors and lovers of antique engravings. Its documentary value on traditional trades and Japanese geography makes it possible to enrich a collection dedicated to scientific and encyclopedic art.
