Print of Setakamui Rock at Shiribeshi by Hasui Kawase

This reproduction illustrates a plate by Hasui Kawase dedicated to the Setakamui rock in Shiribeshi. The artwork captures the power of waves crashing onto the rocky coast, creating strong visual dynamics. The graphic style, precise and evocative, is representative of the Shin-hanga period, where the artist seeks to immortalize Japan's remarkable natural sites. This print bears witness to a desire to document coastal geography with modern artistic sensitivity.
