This ukiyo-e reproduction illustrates Tsukada Island in Musashi Province, a major work belonging to the corpus of Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji. The scene details maritime activity with fishing boats sailing on calm waters, while Mount Fuji stands majestically on the horizon line.

Katsushika Hokusai's original plate, dating from the early 1830s, is remarkable for its documentary precision and chromatic treatment of aquatic elements. The graphic structure highlights the relationship between traditional island life and the sacred geography of ancient Japan.

Intended for those who appreciate classic landscape art, this illustration constitutes a choice piece for a thematic collection. Its soothing composition and finesse of line allow for a detailed observation of navigation and fishing techniques of the Edo era.
