This faithful reproduction features the Sauvignon grape variety as it was documented at the turn of the last century. The illustration details a cluster with bright yellow berries, contrasting with the deep green of the foliage. This visual study allows one to appreciate the complex structure of the vine and the characteristic texture of its fruit.

Taken from the Ampelography of Pierre Viala and Victor Vermorel (1901-1910), this plate is part of a major scientific heritage. The authors mobilized the best draftsmen to offer an exhaustive morphological description, making each engraving an absolute reference for the identification of grape varieties.

This naturalist print is perfectly suited for a collection dedicated to botany or wine-growing art. It offers historical testimony on the diversity of vineyards, combining encyclopedic rigor and graphic finesse for erudite contemplation within a cabinet of curiosities or a classic interior.
