This reproduction of a scientific plate depicts Bernier's herpetodryas, also known under the provisional name of Bernier's elaphis. It offers a lateral view of the snake as well as detailed studies of its head, seen from various angles. The illustrations aim to provide precise morphological information.

Coming from the encyclopedic work "Erpétologie générale ou Histoire naturelle complète des reptiles" by André-Marie-Constant Duméril (1834-1840), this plate is part of the classification of Ophidians. It represents the meticulousness and expertise of 19th-century naturalist illustrators, contributing to the scientific documentation of the animal kingdom.

This reproduction is intended for snake enthusiasts, biology students, and collectors of scientific art. It integrates perfectly into a study or curiosity environment, adding a touch of historical and scientific authenticity.
