This reproduction of an antique scientific plate features the flat-headed platydactyl, a remarkable reptile identified by its dorsal crest and gular pouch. A detailed study of the end of its tail is also included, offering precise morphological information. The dominant hues are yellow, brown, green, and black.

The illustration comes from the work "Erpétologie générale ou Histoire naturelle complète des reptiles" (1834-1840) by André-Marie-Constant Duméril. It belongs to the gecko family, within the saurian order, and reflects the era's expertise in the classification and description of reptiles.

Intended for reptile enthusiasts, zoology students, or collectors of scientific art, this reproduction is a centerpiece for a nature- and science-focused interior. It testifies to the graphic beauty of ancient encyclopedic documents.
