This reproduction highlights four-rayed star corals, or Tetracoralla. The print presents a variety of coral structures, detailing the septa and growth patterns of these ancient cnidarians with great descriptive clarity.

Conceived by Ernst Haeckel for Kunstformen der Natur, this plate testifies to the biologist's expertise in the representation of marine life forms. The graphic style, blending scientific observation and visual harmony, foreshadows the organic lines of Art Nouveau.

This ancient illustration is particularly suited for lovers of marine biology and natural history. It allows an immersion into the study of reefs through a prism that is both artistic and documentary.
