This reproduction comes from a print by Japanese artist Kōno Bairei titled "Strong Wind and Rain". The work captures an atmospheric scene where a figure, sheltered under a red umbrella, crosses a bridge during a downpour. The composition, marked by dynamic lines and sober colors (beige, gray, blue), powerfully conveys the movement of trees bent by the wind.

Created by Kōno Bairei (1844-1895), a master of painting and illustration from the Maruyama-Shijō school during the Meiji era, this print testifies to his talent for representing not only flora and fauna, but also landscapes imbued with life. His style combines realism inherited from observation with a typically Japanese poetic sensibility.

This illustration is aimed at lovers of Japanese art and collectors of ukiyo-e style prints. Through its narrative strength and finesse of execution, it constitutes a choice piece for a decoration that invites travel and contemplation, evoking the power of natural elements.
