This reproduction of a woodblock engraving presents a peaceful winter scene in the Atagoshita district. Taken from the One Hundred Famous Views of Edo work, the plate illustrates a snowy street bordered by bamboo bending under the weight of frost. The composition plays on contrasts of white and gray, emphasizing the rigor of the climate while maintaining a graphic elegance characteristic of Hiroshige's style.

Originally created in 1857, this print illustrates the painter Utagawa Hiroshige's interest in urban landscapes and meteorological phenomena. The care given to the details of daimyos' residences and the posture of the characters under the snowflakes reflects an encyclopedic intention to document daily life and architecture in feudal Japan.

This ancient illustration lends itself perfectly to sober wall decoration or in-depth study of traditional Japanese art. It offers a visual dive into 19th-century aesthetics, harmoniously blending wild nature with rigorous urban structures.
