This faithful reproduction depicts "Mishima Pass in Kai Province", a work signed by the master Katsushika Hokusai. The scene captures a steep mountain pass where Mount Fuji emerges majestically from a sea of clouds. The hierarchy of visual elements, between the green hills of the foreground and the snowy peak, illustrates the verticality of the Japanese landscape.
Issued from the series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji (c. 1830), this woodblock engraving illustrates the modernity of Hokusai's naturalist approach. The editorial intention was to document the various aspects of the sacred mountain under diverse weather conditions. The balance of cold colors reinforces the atmospheric dimension of this landscape study.
Ideal for collectors of mountain landscapes and Japanese art, this plate offers a precise reading of the ukiyo-e style. Its sober and contemplative aspect makes it a privileged choice for refined interior decoration. The quality of the reproduction respects the integrity of the original line and nuances.
