This is a reproduction of the print "Sazai Hall at the Temple of 500 Rakan", a flagship work by Katsushika Hokusai. The composition shows figures admiring Mount Fuji from a terrace overlooking the water. The interplay of gazes guides the viewer toward the horizon, creating remarkable visual depth typical of the Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji series.
Conceived in the early 1830s, this plate is part of the ukiyo-e tradition dedicated to famous landscapes. The artist highlights the relationship between the temple's spirituality and the natural presence of the volcano. The line is dynamic, capturing the moment when man finds himself facing the geographical immensity of Japan.
This antique illustration is particularly suited for spaces dedicated to study or rest. It allows one to appreciate the finesse of the original woodblock engraving and the harmony of beige, blue, and orange hues. Its documentary value enriches any collection of classical Oriental art reproductions.
