This reproduction features the naturalistic plate Amphoridea, from Ernst Haeckel's benchmark work. The illustration highlights the structural complexity of marine organisms, revealing a fascinating geometric organization typical of the biologist's studies. The composition relies on a strong contrast, typical of the encyclopedic plates in this collection.
Taken from the collection Kunstformen der Natur published around 1900, this work reflects Haeckel's aesthetic vision. The precise lines and rigorous symmetry illustrate the author's desire to unite science and art. This plate historically influenced the Art Nouveau movement through its organic and complex forms.
Ideal for documentary study or careful decoration, this scientific print brings a historical dimension to an interior. It invites the observation of the anatomical details of ancient marine fauna, integrating perfectly into a collection of naturalist images or a modern cabinet of curiosities.
